BEING CONNECTED. Cèlia C. (3r ESO C)

AM I SUPER CONNECTED?

I’m a person who connects a lot in the internet. I think the internet is very necessary because you can find information about any topic. You can also listen or download music, connect to social network, play games, send email to friends, watch films, cartoons, programmes, soap operas…

On the one hand the Internet is very useful to search new information and, therefore,  I can do better works for school. However, not all the data within internet is reliable and you have to be careful which information you choose.  On the other hand I use the internet to listen to the music in youtube and to download it. It is also very interesting because you can discover several singers through the links which appear after every song.

Moreover, I also use it to keep in touch with my friends every minute via Facebook. In there you can share your thoughts,  your photos and you can also chat with people. In Facebook you can share your favorite videos, programmes or documentaries. There are a lot of social networks such as Tuenti, Twitter, WhatsApp…

In conclusion, I use internet a lot and I think it is very essential for a daily use. However, it is very important to know how to use it and how much time you spend with it.

BEING CONNECTED. Adrià O. (3r ESO A)

How to disconnect

When you are too much time connected, you are losing time. You are losing time in your life, time when you can be reading, meeting your friends, doing sport, painting, and more things, included doing homework. But you can do it if you really want to do it, because the motivation is important to disconnect to connect. Some people are a lot of time connected because they haven’t got any hobby, they play games on-line where you need to be very time connected, or simply they are bored, for example.

When you are connected to Internet, you have got a lot of options to choose, like chat rooms (Facebook, Twitter), games (Angry birds, Box head), on-line games (World of Warcraft, Habbo) and a lot of web pages, with many different options. My favourite web page is Abandomoviez, where you write your review about the movies.

I visit to Facebook, and sometimes, I recognize that it’s a bit absorbent, and it is difficult to disconnect it, but if you are disconnected much time without think about this, it’s very easy to be connected with the life. Sometimes it’s difficult, but to be connected isn’t bad if you aren’t connected in excess.

TRAVELLING. Clara M. (2n batx B)

If I had money and time I would go to…

If I had money and time I would travel around Europe this summer with an Interrail pass. My lack of travelling is killing me and I’ve decided that I have to recover the time I’ve lost all this years. I could have been to lots of places, so I’ll go to lots of places in only one travel. Backpacking with friends has to be a fantastic experience. With the years, I’ve changed my ideas of a good trip. I used to think that I wanted to be in a great hotel visiting one city or country, but now I’ve realized that I want adventure, I want to meet people, I want to improvise what I do, I want to sleep in a train station.

So, in these last months I’ve been preparing the travel that I won’t do (because my friends don’t have money, and I don’t know if my mother would have a heart attack just of thinking of me being alone around Europe sleeping in hostels). With the simplest Interrail pass you can travel around the majority of countries of Europe through ten days, in which there are five days you can take trains. Taking benefit of the 7 p.m. rule, you can travel one day after 7 p.m. and the next day with counting just one day of travel in you pass, so my best friend’s and mine idea was going to Paris, Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Bern. Just the idea of taking the train with my bag in my back blows my mind.

But if I had more money, there are more places I would love to go. Lately I’ve added to my list of blogs (which was only about fashion) some great travelling blogs I’ve discovered. In Landlopers I found a list of the blogger’s favorite places he had been in 2012 and I went completely mad for Cape Town. It’s a place completely different from the city in which I live. I want to see the beauty and incredible landscapes, the fantastic town hall with the rock walls behind, the amazing beaches furthermore the diversity of people that live there, because the country has had lots of immigration from Malaysians to Eastern Cape people who make an incredible mix of cultures. I would also love to bike around a township, to see the reality of lots of people from which I should learn a lot about how to affront life. It would be really rewarding.

On the contrary, I’d love to visit Pammukale, in Turkey. It’s a completely different type of journey. I discovered this amazing place in What’s Dave Doing?, another blog. The name means ‘cotton castle’ in English. It’s a deposit of minerals with warm water which has formed natural swimming pools with the shape of terraces and, with the lights of the sun, the minerals make the water look as if it was of different colors. An out of this visit would be it’s an utterly crowded place. It’s turned so much touristic that I’ve read it’s even difficult to walk around the terraces.

Pammukale would be a summer visit, but, in winter, I’d like to go to Iceland to see the geysers. It has to be overwhelming to see the water going out from under the ground and getting such a tall high. Also, the landscape, the snow and the mountains have to be fantastic for not only taking photos, but trekking and hiking too.

Finally, I have to add a last place I’d like to be in, even though there are a lot of them which I wouldn’t have place in this composition for making justice to them. I’d like to walk along the Siq at Petra, Jordan. I’ve read lots of travelers’ experiences about it. They all say the walk is really worth it. The natural formations and the vibrant hues of the rocks must be unforgettable. Also, without expecting it, finding in front of you the enormous and splendorous Treasury has to be breathtaking.

Hence, by the way of conclusion, I would like to finish by saying: world, please, wait for me. I’m saving.

TRAVELLING. Marc F. (2n batx A)

MY PLACE IS MY WAY

I took it and I put what’s essential on a traveller’s bag (some clothes and money) and got away. No sentimental farewells with my family, just a note: “Love you! I got no problem with you, mom and daddy; I just need to see the world spinning round.  XOXO”. That’s what I left at home: a note, love and a whole life.

So there I was, walking on the train station, getting the first train that passed. I am foresighted, so I decided not paying for any ticket from then on. I appeared in France three hours later. It was wonderful! I had done it! I was free for the first time in my life! I remember that first stop as the second most wonderful one: I didn’t know Bordeaux was so pretty. I visited all western France by train, freely until I was caught by a gendarme and, consequently, I said goodbye to 100€. Fortunately, I could get to Weimar, a city with a lot of history and culture and after having visited most of the German lands and after two months sleeping on the street and eating whatever, I spent all my money left to pay a ticket to go to China.

Guangzhou: I had never heard about it. As far as I am concerned, it is the second airport of China. I had no money so, what did I have to do? I had to work. I couldn’t pronounce a word in Chinese, so it was very, very difficult. I passed very three months. Thanks God, I found the most compassionate and generous man I have ever met: Chen Wang Tse. I was stealing food from his little shop when he saw me. I got paralyzed and, waiting for a beating, he gave me lunch, work and shelter! I can’t thank him with words... I was desperate.

I stayed with him for three years. He had lost his wife and his son on a fatal fire on his house... He kind of adopted me. We visited Mongolia and most of China; he had been saving from his first insignificant salary to do what we were doing; not with be but with his son. Suddenly, he died. I had never cried so much... In fact, I am still now crying his death: he was my father. Sad, stunned and in pain, I, thanks to the money he had left me, left that country I would always relate with the best man ever. “辞 行”, dear Chen.

Now, in Zambia, I live in a little village where time doesn’t exist, nor sadness. I am thinking to get back, but as I write these words, I see clearer that my place is my way. And I’ll keep walking.

Carpe Diem
One day, recently awake, appeared a blue and bald man of a can in my room. This man only said that I could program the trip of my dreams and he could make it true. Therefore, imagine that I’m not crazy… if I’m able to choose, where I would like to travel?
Nothing makes me happier than being surrounded by people who love me and do what I like. Under the water I'm different; I feel different; it’s my world, my environment. Adrenaline and the adventure sports are another thing that I'm addicted to. I love experiencing new adventures, being scared and then feel proud to have done it. I love the fact of only thinking what I’m doing right now, and the fact of finishing the experience with the feeling of wanting to repeat as soon as possible.
Certainly, if I could organize a trip wherever I wanted, I would like to travel around the world by boat. Crossing each and every one of the costs that I found and stopping where I want a week or a year. In fact, I wouldn’t program anything. I would travel with the only company of my map, my boat and the people who wanted to join the adventure with me.
I will leave Spain and tracing the African coast I would arrive in South Africa. Once there, I will address myself from Mozambique to Madagascar. I will pass to India, Malaysia, Indonesia, I will do full turn in Australia, Guinea and Philippines, China, Japan, Russia, Canada, United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, full turn in South America to Washington and Canada. Finally, I will return to Barcelona.
I will spend half life traveling, without rush, enjoying every moment of every adventure, every culture, landscape and all being record to remember it forever. On each coast that I want, I would make a dive. I will try all the possible adventure sports known and unknown. I would meet new people, learn, observe and don’t miss anything. To sum up, I would like to conclude by saying, carpe diem!

If I had money and time where would I like to go?

First of all and to begin with this dream, to tell the truth, frankly, I have to say that if I had money and time I would like to go around the world and I would visit all the cities as well as I would like to know something of all cultures.

As far as I'm concerned, it widely known that If I have to choose a place to go with a lot of money and a lot of time is New York. Naturally, in New York, I suppose that I will be really happy because, up to a certain point, I love to go shopping. I've never gone to this big city as if I go to New York I will come back with a lot of bags but, on the contrary, without any money because the clothes, heels and accessories make me crazy.

On the other hand, if I went to New York when I had seen all the shops and I had bought all the clothes as well as all the shoes that I wanted, I would like to go to a Caribbean beach to relax my body and to sunbathe what's more to get a tan. When I had got a tan, I would like to go to Ibiza to take my best night parties with all the young people like me.

Eventually, I would like to conclude by saying, I would like to go to China, Amsterdam, Berlín, Tokyo, Moscow...as I have said, I would like to around the world.

IF I HAVE A LOT OF MONEY…

If I have a lot of money maybe I will stay in Las Maldivas, and I said maybe because I don’t know if I will stay in Las Maldivas or in the Fiji islands, really I don’t know what I will do… hahahahahahahaha!

And we have to be honest, if you have a lot of money too, you will stay in one of this two islands, or another (there are lots of islands in this world). And one thing that I’m completely sure is that if you stay in a heavenly place you won’t be reading my wonderful composition or maybe yes because you love me so much and you will read it while you were sunbathing! All in this life is possible!

After this parenthesis, I will continue saying that… If I have a lot of money and, of course, a lot of time (but frankly if you have a lot of money, you have all the time of the world), I will travel around the world, visit the most wonderful places, know other fantastic cultures… but I would like to do this sleeping in the best hotels, I’ve always thought that if you want to do something, you have to do it well, it means that if you want to travel around the world, sleep in the best hotels, eat in the best restaurants and take a coffee in the best cafes!! Wow…I’m going crazy just thinking in all those things that I will do when I have a lot of money!

I know that you said in class that we have the age to take a bag and travel around the world visit all the cities and wonderful places that we haven’t been yet. And I told you that I prefer do it but without a bag and sleeping in the best hotels as I said before. But there is one thing that I’ve always wanted to do it, it is my dream! And when I can, I will do it: my dream is to take a car with my best friends and drive along the coast of California, visiting Hollywood, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz… And all of their beaches!! When I see these places in images or videos, I think…WHY DO I HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL TOMOROROW?!!!!!!!

I’m luckily because I have seen lots of wonderful places, I could see New York when it was winter and all the city was decorated for Christmas and skate on the ice rink of Rockefeller center, I have stayed in Florida in summer and visited theme parks, I have stayed in Malta studying English and to go to party, I have stayed in Milan, in Paris, in Norway… And I think that it’s all.

To finish I would like to say that we only have one life, and with or without money, we have to travel, we have to see all of these places that we haven’t seen yet! Come on, take your bag, take what you want, sleep in a hotel or sleep on the floor, but live the life!!!

If I had a lot of money and a lot of time I would like to travel to…

If it had a lot of money and a lot of time I would like to travel to Mexico because it is my dream since I was seven. My parents were thinking that it was a question of a caprice but already they have become convinced that it is not like that because they have realized that I have a special connection with this country. It is not a question that I wants  to go to the beach or to resting; quite the contrary, I love their culture, food, history, art ... and that is exactly what I want to discover and enjoy.

Mexican republic is vastnes and all his conditions have a special magic that catches you and immerses you in his captivations; its landscapes are overwhelming and its people are extraordinarily welcoming. If I out of trip undoubtedly would visit some of the marvels of this beautiful country as: Cañon del Sumidero (Chiapas), Barranca del cobre (Chiuaua), Chichen Itzá (Yucatan)… Besides these beautiful places I would visit the nicest colonial cities: Cuernavaca, Guadalajara, Puebla, Mérida…

While I realized these wonderful visits I would taste the best Mexican saucers, since his gastronomy is, for my, one of the best of the world; my favourite saucers are: quesadillas, enchiladas, chilaquiles, tacos… and my favourite dessert is: crepa de cajeta. The Mexican craft is highlight and is becoming a grat tourist attraction because it is beautiful and you can see how people compose it.

It is very exciting to see the devotion and the faith that they have to the virgin of Guadalupe, she is present in all the homes; This faith crosses borders since it makes a couple of years they gave me a medal of her and from this day always I take her with me, therefore I would visit the Basilica of Guadalupe that is located in the beautiful city of Mexico DF. Undoubtedly I would like to fulfill this dream since I am sure that that experience would be unforgettable.

If I had money and time I would like to go to…

If I was a lucky girl and had a lot of money and free time, I would travel to Greek Islands. Why? Just because of its breathtaking landscapes and such gorgeous white houses. They have always attracted me to spend time there and watch the world go by, without worries. Greece, with such a wealth history and secluded sandy beaches, it’s one of the most beautiful places I would like to visit once in a lifetime.
Its vastness and beauty are overwhelming. I would probably rent a huge yacht to sail through the entire islands and discovering small bays to swim in the blue calmed ocean. So, summer time would be the best time of the year to visit these fantastic islands with my lovely and handsome boyfriend.
If this doesn’t blow my mind at all, I would visit New York City as well, just because I always wanted to watch in vivo Times Square and Central park.
Visiting Greek island would make one of my dreams come true. Waking up at sunrise would make well worth the effort, just for the utterly amazing views it would show then.

MY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS. Jordi B. (1r batx A)

My New Year’s resolutions

Another year has been finished so a new year is beginning. As every 365 days, I have some new purposes to comply and satisfy this year.

Above all, I want to keep being happy. Being happy, covers all my other aims because if I’m not blissful when the year finishes, that would mean that I couldn’t have got one of my resolutions.

These resolutions are in first place, passing first of baccalaureate with good marks and starting second of baccalaureate on the right foot and with the “TR” correctly finished. In second place, I want this year to go to lots of parties and discos with my friends and meeting new people, but logically having finished the homework and exams of the school. In third place, I want to keep improving as a person and I also want to make happy all the people around me like they do with me. Finally, I want to stay healthy and fit, going to the gym if I have enough time, because the other purposes will keep me busy for all the year.

I’m sure that I can get all these objectives so I'm going to push myself to the limit to make of 2013, an unforgettable year.

My New Year's Resolutions. Jaume E. (1r batx B)

My New Year’s resolutions

This last year 2012 has been probably one of the best of my life, and my main resolution for 2013 is to make it even nicer than the last one. Whatever, I have some other less complicated resolutions, for example getting a job this summer and collecting some money for my bank account, or to do a diving course, something that I have always wanted to do, because I love the sea and its mysteries…

I always want to get good marks this course, because I want to get to the Medicine College, so my marks have to be excellent, so that maybe is the hardest and most important resolution, it will condition my future…

I also want to do more sport and get again into a Taekwon-Do academy, as last year, because I had to leave it this year because it was very far, so I don’t know if that doesn’t really fit with my marks resolution, I will try to combine everything. I also want to start teaching a child with studying problems, and helping him pulling forward, that will be very satisfactory for me.

I have some other resolutions as maybe getting a girlfriend and having the best summer of my life, getting out with friends, having parties and having fun, enjoying my 17 years old summer that will never come back again, so I want to live the moment without forgetting my studies. I want to live my youth and be happy, having sport and being a healthy person.

Summarizing, happiness, studies and health are my resolutions for this 2013, that I really hope it will be unforgettable.

BEING CONNECTED! Adri H. (3r ESO A)

Well, in this compositon I’m going to talk about… Internet, Whatsapp, Facebook and others. It’s a complex topic, but let’s go.

I normally use my Ipod Touch. It is not an Smartphone, but it’s like and Iphone but without phone. At the app store there are LOTS OF applications to download. My favourite app for my device is…Facebook! I think facebook is a good app to install, because you can talk with your family, friends and other new people.

My second favourite app is… Instagram! If you like to do photos I recommend you this app. With Instagram you can update photos into your blog, facebook, twitter, and other social networks. And, this is like twitter, you can follow people and people can follow you.

Another app…Twitter. Twitter is fantastic, but If I have to be realist I only use it to know about other people lives, like famous people, or others… And you can follow people too.

Now I will talk about my favorite games… Well, I love cars, and my favorite game is about… cars!! It name is “real racing” and you have to win races, obviously. My second favourite game is… pou! It’s a studpid game… You have to take care of it…

That’s all. And last, we have to comment the video that our teacher played last day. Okay, I think that people live in a bubble with the technology, and they don’t interact with the world. In the video we saw that people usually stop doing his/her work because they’re addict at mobile. That’s all.

The Internet. Laura M. (2n batx A)

‘Click’ has changed our lives

First of all and to begin with, Internet has, undoubtedly, changed our way to live. As a matter of fact, actual society has Internet in their houses, which is, probably, one of the most useful things in our nowadays life. But, however, it has advantages and disadvantages. Up to a certain point, we can find almost everything we search for, such as some particular information for school, work or whatever hobby we have. This means leaving books, encyclopaedias, etcetera, behind. It must be admitted that is more comfortable just to ‘click’ and have all the information in your disposition instead of looking for it in a book, which needs more time and patience.

Secondly, we often do not, for instance, meet our friends while we are not on holidays. So, therefore, we can use Internet to chat with them. What’s more if there’s distance in-between, in which is the only way to have contact with your friends.

Consequently, we stopped buying and reading books. We have, most of them, online, likewise E-books and that kind of things, which are being very popular.

As a whole, we are, frankly, forgetting real pleasures, such as reading real books, spending time, face to face, with our friends and so on. This is the biggest disadvantage of Internet, being less sociable to find easier, faster and, possibly, more efficiently, information that we search for.

My Christmas Holidays. Adrià R. (3r ESO C)

MY CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS

One of my first days of Christmas holidays was in my grandparent’s house where I helped my grandfather to put the crib with my sister .

The same weekend we were doing  the  Christmas tree and the crib of my house. The next week santa and caga tió put a lot of presents in our house, like a shirts, a calendar of 2013…

And the night of the bells spent at my father's pharmacy because he was on duty; and so we spent the end of the year with family and we saw the transmition of the bells on youtube, after I put music on youtube and we were eating, dancing and speaking.

And the night of the Three Kings we went to the cavalcade of Sant Andreu. This Sunday we were opening the presents, and the three kings carried me the only thing that I wanted: The PS3!!!!and some nice games.

And finally I went to the training of Barça in the miniestadi, with my father, my sister and some friends of my sister.

This holidays were entertaining and fun!!!!!
Happy New Year to everyone!!!

MY WISHES FOR THE NEW YEAR. Esther B. (3r ESO C)

THE THREE WISE MEN

In the first place, unfortunately I remember when I was not very little, that special day I found out the secret. At night, I had been walking because I wanted to look for Baltazar (he was my favourite), therefore I had seen my father drinking and eating the meal and the food I had been preparing the other night for the camels. Thus, I found out the magic secret.

This new year, my wishes have been changing a little bit. This is because every day I am more open-minded of the situations and the troubles we might have, of course. Nowadays, there are a lot of people begging on the streets, families who probably would lose their home, all the people who live in absolutely poverty… There comes a time, when you wonder if this would happen in my life.

So, I want to ask them if they could support the job of my parents, minus poverty and health to everyone. But, in another way I’d like to have a new mobile phone, a par of Panama Jack and not much money to buy clothes.

At last, I hope my wishes come true.

MERRY CHRISTMAS. Sergi L. (1r batx B)

Merry Christmas

We are a stressed community, we always have contradictions with life, for example, we want to be more popular, famous or rich, in return, the third world society is happy with very few things, they don’t get stressed for anything because they’ve enough with surviving every day. They have many diseases, but yet, they are the most blissful people in the world, on the other hand, we have whatever we want and we are always annoyed for all and we don’t enjoy life.

For all this, in Christmas all of us have an opportunity to be better with ourselves and being a better people. Christmas helps you to disconnect, to break with the routine.

The setback of Christmas is that all the people think they have a commitment with friends and family and this forces us to buy things that at the same time creates anxiety and stress to the people, now more than before on account of the world crisis.

Ending, we have to be cheerful in Christmas and help all the people as far as we can. This is the finality of the Merry Christmas.
