CHALLANGES DAYS- EL COLLELL

These days have been amazing. Actually, I don’t really believe what I have actually done. For me it’s very important because, I can’t lie, I’m not a mountain fan. I don’t go with my parents so I haven’t walked  a lot in the forest or I haven’t climbed or ridden a bike. This has been a great challenge to me and it got me inspired, really. 

As on weekends I don’t have a lot of time because of tennis and other things, I hadn’t ridden a bike in years (like 7 or something like this) so, for me, this has been very important because I got the best of me and I rise above myself. I was not scared about riding a bike but I have a big respect because a lot of people had accidents and the first time in a lot of years, riding the bike on a road was astonishing for me. My bike was very bad. The chain of the bike was weak and it was always jumping. When we were about to return, Miki and I swiped bikes so I got a better one, and I changed my position from the last to one of the top 5 because I could go faster so I enjoyed much more.

The second and the third day were amazing too. We went on quads (it was real fun), we played archery and we also made adventure camps and we also played with laser tag guns.

The supervisors we had were so funny… They have a lot of energy and good vibes. They were never in a bad mood. My supervisor was Rigo (Laura Rigola). She is such an inspiring person, always happy and she was like one of us.

I asked Rigo about her work at El Collell. She told me she loves her job but it’s a work for 4 years more or less, because you can’t always be living at el Collell (yes, our supervisors live at el Collell, but at the weekends, they go to their homes). They are in a bubble because internet there is limited and there is not a mobile signal… Beds were just OK.

I enjoyed a lot the fact of disconnecting my phone and speaking with people I don’t speak a lot. So I recommend 100% ‘’jornades challenges El Collell’’. Good activities, good food, good supervisors and amazing vibes. It is a must.

A FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE. Queralt P. (2 ESO B)

My frightening adventure

One day I was alone at home. I was doing my homework in the living room and I remember I had a material that I needed in my room, I went and suddenly I saw the silhouette of a girl, about my age, I must be 9-10 years old, lying in my bed.

I was surprised and I left the room, I just breathed and I returned to the bedroom. The girl wasn’t there. I did not overlook it.

Days later, returning from school, I went to my house and saw the same girl sat in my chair in the living room where I did my homework.

-        How could that be - I thought

I did not tell anyone because it was not normal to see people at home that are not real.

They spent days, weeks, but one day I was watching TV and I heard a girl had disappeared with my age then I saw the photograph of the girl ... it was the same girl I had seen days before!!

I went to tell my mum what happened and she told me:

-        It is was impossible!

After leaving it on TV and speak to my mum, I didn’t see the girl again.

My most exciting experience

In summer, I went to Port Aventura with my family.

In Port Aventura I went to the most exciting roller coasters. And in Port Aventura the tallest of the rides is “Huracán Cóndor”.

When I saw this roller coaster I said “wow” and I thought it was very tall 

I didn’t know about going to this roller coaster. At the end, I went and I got up. When I was on the top of ride, the ride stopped and I said “no, no me not” 

I had an exciting moment. 

This was the best day of my life. Because I lost the fear.

A FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE. Nerea B. ( 2 ESO A)

THE MOST FRIGHTENING SITUATION

It was a normal day. Nuria came to sleep in my house. In the night, at 4.00 am, we heard a noise. The noise was a little scary.

Nuria and I woke up out of curiosity to know what was that noise. I said “What is that noise” and Nuria answered me saying “I don’t know”.

Suddenly the door opened and we saw a girl with a white dress. The little girl said, “Sister, I don’t want to sleep more. Come and play with me”. I said “Nuria, I’m very frightened”, and Nuria said “Me too”.

At the moment, Nuria and I were very frightened. We didn’t know what to do. I knew that girl was my little sister but I was too scary to think.

Then I said “Natalia, if it is a joke, it isn’t funny” and she said “I’m not Natalia”. OH MY GOODNESS.

“What!?!?” – said Nuria.. “Natalia, please turn on the light, come on”.

And finally, Natalia turned on the light and we saw that she was it, obviously. Nuria and I went to sleep a little frightened by what had happened... But it’s fun to remember the faces that we put, hahaha.

A FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE Arnau T. (2 ESO A)

The most frightening situation i have ever lived

In my life a lot of things happened all the times but there is one that makes me feel bad, when my parents talk about them they always look at me because I’m so scared about that.

This story happened in my village, a small village in Teruel, they make a festival about all the scary things. Oh for me this week was horrible, I saw masks of draculas, zombies, skeletons, dragons.. My parents told me that we had to go to see this exhibition.

At night all the people of the vilatge had to bring a mask of an scary thing: I went with  mask of a zombie, my mother took mor mask for all her friends and they made a party of scary masks. Ihad a lot of fun this night. But at 12 o’clock at night the comision of the festival celebrates for all the kids under 14 years a frightening hike for the forest.

First all all , we went in a House, a black House, inside  them there wasn’t any type of light, but very fast the ligths turned on and a guy appeared from no were and boom, and he shouted a lot and all my friends and I also shouted a lot. Ahhhhhhhh!!! We said.

But before going to our houses we had to pass into the forest. This forest is really cold and has a river at the left side. I was so scared because I heard some birds, the wind moved the leaves of the ground. And all the people that had participed appeared behind of us, shouting and saying, happy festival and all of as went to sleep with scares in our bodies.

A FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE. LLuc V. ( 2 ESO A)

First of all I have to introduce the date and location.

It was  HALLOWEEN of 2013 I was in London and my family and I decided to go to a scariest attraction like “Hotel Kruger” but more heavy.

We got inside ; no problem but quickly we saw a dog with an angry face coming for us , I was saying we had to run, the other persons saw the  dog and follow my example .

We were frightened but we continue walking to the next part .

We started to relax because nobody was doing frights ; then we saw a tortured man in a electric chair twisting ; and when we looked at the left part we all shout, it was a person with a knife behind us !!

We didn’t think anything except start to ran away .

After, we went straight and we watched a girl on a bed ; we didn’t know if she was slept or died . But unfortunately we go closer and the girl did a turn of 360 º we were impress , but we didn’t ran because she was tied .

This happened fast: the bed raised and she was free , we stood there ; no moving , no sound  , it was dark it was almost impossible for her to saw us.

And we were right . We went to the end of the attraction with a scary face but with a great experience .

                               MY BUCKET LIST                             

In my entire life I want to do so much that I think it will be very difficult to write a short summary about it.

Firstly my bucket list has to begin with an excursion to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida; this is one of my dad’s wishes of all time and so is mine. We would look like kids playing with their favourite toys, and we would yell every time we see a rocket!

In the same trip we have to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, at Universal Orlando Resort. I need my Ravenclaw robe, seriously, I think I’m already the most irritating person in the world with it, but I will continue till I get my robe.

I also will get the famous Deathly Hallows tattoo as I declare my totally but never ending addiction with the saga.

Changing to another continent but not of topic I would go to New Zealand, not only to go to the Hobbiton but to be in every single place “Lord of the Rings” was shot. I have a kind of obsession with Aragorn, and my relation with Legolas can be defined as real and unconditional love.

An essential Bucket List objective for me is going to the Liceu with my mom to listen to an Opera play, if I could choose I would go to The Phantom of the Opera or Turandot. We listen to Opera whenever we can, or when our neighbours let us, it seems we play it very loud.

Talking about music, a concert of Cat Stevens is a centrepiece wish I’ll make come true as soon as possible. His music influences in my everyday mood and most of the times makes me remember the family is the most important thing you have to care about. Going to an another Queen concert wouldn’t be bad at all, but I prefer to listen to another music groups I still haven’t seen performing such as Led Zeppelin, Neil Young or Creedence Clearwater Revival, this last with my dad, the one who showed me their music. It would mean a lot to me.

Another important thing, pretty different to the others I have said, is to do voluntary work in an African country, a human is the only who can save another one so, and as this has been my lifetime quote I have to demonstrate it. I would like to work in a hospital as a nurse or going to small tribes and heal every single person I can!

As you can see it’s quite long, isn’t it? And that’s only the things I would like to the most nowadays, every day see lots of things brand new things I want to do, so not everything can be written, of course!

MY BUCKET LIST


I just plan more or less the things that caught my attention the most. I am not that one who makes a list of things to do before I die.




Even though goal setting is already my staple activity, I still found many new things to do while I was writing on my own list. I was thinking a lot of time of what to write on my list, and some questions that I have asked to myself were some of these:




- What to do if I had unlimited time, money and resources?

- Any countries, places or locations I want to visit

- What I like to do together with other people


That list would include things that I wanted to do with my best friends, for example doing parachuting on the mountains, feeling the cold breeze on my face or bungee jumping in the new and longest bridge in China. Some other things I like the most is to do a triathlon, because it includes the best modes of practicing sport such as running. 


Of course I wanted to marry and become a father, and on my honeymoon I want to go to the Caribbean Islands for two weeks and to go scuba diving / snorkelling and experience marine life up close. Because as humans, we spend all of our lives on land and it is time to try something different. 


And the last thing of my list nowadays is to give a heartfelt surprise to someone. I was thinking on it and one of them could be seeing to my mum that my couple is pregnant or to book a week of luxury hotels for the 25th wedding anniversary of my parents.

Things I want to do before I’m 30…

  Despite I’m a lazy boy, there are some things that I want to do before I get married. Today I’ve the opportunity to explain all those things I’d like to do before my thirties but I honestly think that I won’t fulfil most of them in all my life. But if you don’t take a chance, how will you ever know?

 Firstly, I’d like to learn how to dance a “sardana”, I learnt it when I was a child but, unfortunately, I’ve forgotten this precious dance that my grandmother loved. Besides, I’d also want to go mushroom hunting. Actually I’ve planned to go mushrooming this weekend with Èrik and other friends.

 On the other hand, I also love travelling, so I wish to go to the countries I like the most such as China, Tibet, India, Madagascar, Bolivia, Mongolia, Japan, Iran, Israel, North Korea, Cuba or Myanmar.

 But there’s one thing that I’d personally prefer to do before I’m thirty, and it’s a simple thing: voting in an election (well, for some countries it’s not so normal). I love politics and I’d like to help with my vote to our dwindling country to become a 21st century one.

MY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE

This summer I went to a camp, near to mountains.

The camp was very funny because we did a lot of activities and sports. Every night before we went to sleep, we did activities and challenges.

One night we decided to do a scary challenge (that it wasn’t obligatory), which consisted of sleeping in a forest without any person, al the night. 

But the worst thing was that the persons that didn't want do it could go to the forest and frighten the persons that did the challenge.

I did it and it was a frightening experience because everything around me was dark and many children came to me and to the people that did the challenge. To scare us, they did strange sounds like an animal and also they threw things.

This is my most frightening experience because everything around me was dark and also because the companies of the camp did strange sounds. 

That night I couldn’t sleep because I was very scared.

MY BUCKET LIST 

Now I’m going to tell you all the things I want to do as soon as I can, so let’s start! The first thing I want to do is founding my own tennis academy, and helpingplayers that are good and have no money (like me) that want to play even more and can’t, but first is to make a fortune and this is also a thing from my bucket list.

As I’ll make a fortune (let me dream) I’d like to buy a Porsche, a Porsche Cayenne, it’s my favourite car, I love it so much...
Another thing is that I would like to help poor people around the world and let them study and make sport, tennis, because studying is the base for developing a country. I would also like to become a model and walk in the BCN 080 fashion catwalk; it can be a great experience!

Travelling around the world would be amazing because I’d learn from other countries and make a lot of tourism, but I also need money to do it...
One dream about tennis would be playing with Rafa Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djockovic, but also Serena Williams and Garbiñe Muguruza.

I love music and not to sing great makes me angry because I love music. And also, learning how to play the piano... I started playing it and three years later I stopped because of tennis, but I am sure that when I am older, I will learn it.
As I love clothes, I would like to be able to buy a lot of clothes from all labels I love, such as La Martina, Hackett London or Moncler. But they are so expensive...

And as I have told you, I love clothes so I’d like to design my own clothes and create my own label, great clothes, good quality, workers well paid and fair price.
I also would like to study my degree at ESADE but as I don’t have enough money and don’t have enough marks (9.5 over 10) to get a scholarship, I’d like to study the degree at Pompeu Fabra, that would be excellent!

And, I’d like to meet someday Tony Bennett (but he’s so old... He’s 90 and I don’t think I’ll be able to meet him), I would also like to meet Stevie Wonder, OMG I love him!
My dream but never will become true is to meet Amy Winehouse, but she’s dead so I can’t meet her, what a pity. And a singer that I have known and I also like is Dinah Washington, but she has died too, a lot of years ago... (and yes, I like soul music)

So these are some of the things I want to do as soon as possible, the things from my wonderful bucket list!

My Bucket List

There are many things I want to do in my life, some of them are obviously impossible or really difficult to do, but others with effort and time I think I could achieve them one day.

Aviation has been my passion for more than 4 years at the moment, so there are a lot of things related to aviation in my bucket list, but my favourite one and at the same time the easiest to achieve (easy having in mind that the in the aviation world everything is very expensive) is getting the PPL, Private Pilot License, and I hope that I’ll get it in 2 years.

I also like travelling and discovering new cultures, so 4 months ago I looked for some volunteer information in Africa or Nepal, and I would really like going one month to Nepal, to Africa or to a third world destination and spending it helping those people who don’t have anything and need help. I’m sure one day I’ll take part of one of these volunteer programs.

And there are a lot of other things that today I’m not explaining because I would write a 1000 words essay, but the 2 biggest dreams I have today are without any kind of doubt the two I have explained.

DEMOCRATS VS REPUBLICANS. ANNA D. (1 BTX A)

REPUBLICANS vs DEMOCRATS

On Monday,  we went to the library Can Fabra. There we met Bettina Inclán, she defended the candidate:  Donald Trump (the Republican party) and Eduard Soto: Hillary Clinton ( the Democratic party).

If I ask you to vote?  Which party would you like to vote?  Republicans or Democratic?

Maybe this question is the one that all the USA is asking themselves. The people who they vote  need to know very clear what every party is giving or is telling about what they are  going to do in the parliament, and to know definitely who’s going to take well the country.

To know more about all of this, Bettina and Eduard started explaining us all the bases and why they wanted to vote each party. After that, they started to “fight” to convince us, why we should vote the Democratic party or the Republican one.

Next, we started a little big round of questions, I’m referring a “little big round” because the persons who asked them intelligent questions were always the same people and they were asking a lot of things.

In my opinion if someone asked me what party I would vote, my answer probably would be no one. Some reasons are because the politics and all these things are important to decide our future and our world. But if I need to trust you, I don’t know anything about all of this. I’m sure that someone out of the street knows more about that, than Donald Trump. Or someone has the ideas more clear than Hillary Clinton.

I’m not joking, but all the country is in the hands of these two, and they only have an option that is to vote one candidate.

All of us are thinking all the time…Who’s going to be the next president of the United States of America?

 The US elections are the main event of the year for all those people who like politics like me. It’s interesting to know who will become the most powerful man (or woman, we can say that for the first time) in the world. Maybe for this reason, last Monday’s morning was a bit special. We went to Can Fabra, and now you’ll ask yourself: Why did you go to the library? Did you go to read? No, we went to a debate about the next US elections.

  It was, obviously, in English and there were two Americans, both of Latin American ancestry who discussed the typical electoral topics. At my left, there was a Mexican woman who strongly supported the controversial ideas of Donald Trump and the Republican Party. Next to her, there was a young man from Puerto Rico (the USA) who defended the Democratic Party. The woman said that she was Republican because she and her family escaped from the “hard Cuban’s communist dictatorship”. In the other hand, the man said that he was Democratic because of his family tradition. It was also interesting to see how they talked about some topics like racism which here are taboo. Then, we could ask questions and I thought a question “Which is your position in Catalonia’s self-determination?”, but I realized that it might be very uncomfortable for them (they’re always so ambiguous in this topic).

 My personal opinion of the next US elections is that I want neither Republican Party win nor Democrats. Betina Inclán (the Republican woman) said that Venezuela is a dictatorship. Maybe it’s, but, at least, in Venezuela there’s a right-wing party and a left-wing party. Otherwise, in the US there’re two right-wing parties which defend the neoliberal economic system, the largest military investment in the world or the Arctic’s political partition. Luckily I can’t vote in this election.

Democrats vs. Republicans

This Monday we went to Can Fabra library to assist at a talk organized by the library about the US politics. So, last Friday we looked for some information about the two big parties at the USA to know at least something of what we were going to listen on Monday.

When we arrived at the library, we entered to the auditorium, where we sat, once everyone was prepared a woman appeared and explained us a little bit about the talk we were ready to listen.

Then, the 2 members of the two big parties in USA, Democrats and Republicans, presented themselves, the lady was part of the Republican’s campaign for these 2016 elections, and the other man was part of the Democrat campaign. I have to say that I was very surprised when they said that they were part of the parties, because I thought that there would be just 2 current people talking about politics.

The talk lasted about one hour, when they had finished it was time for questions, so some of our classmates asked them some questions about the US politics in general, the questions could be in English or in Spanish because the two political members were from South-America or they parents were from a Latin country.

Finally, I enjoyed the talk, at the beginning I thought it was a little bit boring, but when it got more dynamic I started enjoying it more, and I personally found really interesting and curious when at the final we voted having in mind the things they had explained us.

DEMOCRATS VS REPUBLICANS. Jordi C. (1 BTX B)

Last Monday all the mates from 1 of batxillerat went to the library of Can Fabra to listen a talk  about the US political system and the different candidates, parties and a bit of info about the programs of each one.

First of all, I want to do a short summary talking about what they explained to us and the differences between each one. In the US political system there are different parties and candidates but the most voted and the ones that prevail and obtain the highest number of votes every four years are the Republicans and the Democrats.

The Republican party is more traditional, and more conservative than the Democrat. It involves the free market capitalism, the strong national defense, and they don’t like the homosexual weddings, the abortion and more things. They have an absolute majority in states like Texas and catholic evangelic states. 

The nowadays president and government candidate for the presidency is Donald Trump (I think that we all know about it so I won’t take a long text to this character). Donald Trump is a man that has a lots of dollars and is just a character it says a lots of barbarities and if it follows like a candidate of the party it is because of his money, because it can effort the cost of all the promotion for his presidential carrier.

On the other side,  with a totally different thinking, there are the Democrats or Democratic party that think in the economic and social equality, the public health attention and a modern liberalism. They are majority in states like California. The last president Barack Obama was and is a member of this party the nowadays candidate is Hillary Clinton.

The sensation that I have is that the United States will choose the candidate that does less bad things because these two candidates are bad politicians (like all). 

One of these two candidates was investigated by the FBI!!!. And the other one is just a rich man that wants to play a game named “President of USA” but without political experience and saying the barbarities that he says. 

I know I’m just a "kid" writing an essay to my teacher but it is a letter of an angry person viewing that the most important military, politic and economic world power can be managed by people that just think in themselves and in their own benefit. 

What I learned in the talk was all that you are reading but also another thing. The world Is getting worse and worse and we have to stop it.
