This term project in our 2nd ESO classes was to create "A CLASS NEWSLETTER".

Every group had to research about the class: informations,
school trips, surveys about their interests, gossips...
and  then they made a newsletter with the informations.

Here you have the result of their work.

‘’LIFE WAS SIMPLER AND EASIER IN THE STONE AGE THAN IT IS IN MODERN SOCIETIES’’

We are going to discuss this affirmation and I’m going to give my opinion about it.

As a citizen of a developed society I don’t think this is true at all. First of all, we can go to the supermarket or to the market and buy food; we don’t need to hunt an animal to be able to eat, or we can go to a restaurant, and we don’t have to do anything. Not only that point, for example, if we are cold we are able to turn on our heating system or if we need water we can open the tap or go to the supermarket as well, and we do not need to go to the river. So life was not easier because you always had to be looking for food and safe places, so if you had to be looking for food I reckon you were not free, and freedom is very important.

I agree with the fact of ‘’simpler’’ because you just live for hunting and taking care of your children and nothing else. Nowadays we look for material things, and we always want more and more (unconsciously). Once we are auto realized, we want to cover other necessities such as, in my case, clothes or cameras etc. So, I think life is easier now but it was simpler in the past. Our brain and mentality have changed so much that happiness is not reached by having some food for eating. There are other important aspects.

ITALY

The 20th of October my classmates and I left from Barcelona to go to Italy for a week. We visited many cities and monuments from the north of the country. I had already been to Florence and Pisa before, but the rest of the places I hadn’t so I was really excited to see new towns from this beautiful country.

The cities that I liked the most were Florence and Venice. As I said before I had already visited Florence, but because I’m older now than the last time I went I think I appreciated the city more. It’s a beautiful place to walk around and there are lots of things to do such as visiting museums and churches, go shopping, etc.

The hotel wasn’t amazing but we were situated right in the centre of the city so just because of that it was worth to stay there.

My other favourite place was Venice and I hadn’t been there before so I was extremely excited for it. My friends and I walked a lot and we took many of pictures. I got to eat an amazing pizza slice, which was probably bigger than my head!

My friends and I decided to go on a Gondola and in my opinion, it wasn’t that awesome as I expected.

I feel that what I enjoyed the most of the trip was that I got the spend a lot of time with my friends and I got to know them a little bit better. Because I don’t live in Sant Andreu it’s difficult for me to meet them often and in this trip I really connected with them. I’m really happy that we shared this trip all together and made tones of wonderful memories.

TRAVEL TO ITALY

Last week the students of second “batxillerat” travelled to Italy. We travelled by bus, so it means we were sixteen hours on the road.  After that, we arrived at Florence, but first we stopped in Pisa only for a few hours to visit the baptistery and take some photos. Then we stopped in Lucca, a beautiful village where we ate and did a bike ride over the wall. Finally, at the end of the day we arrived at the hotel in Florence. The first room they gave us was horrible, the shower didn’t work, most of the furniture was broken, etc. So, they gave us another room so much better. I think they gave us the best room they had! We were the envy.

The following days we visited other beautiful cities like Padova, Siena, San Gimigniano and, of course, Florence. The last two nights we moved to another hotel nearer to Venice. This hotel in Lido was really horrible because of the room I had and because of the service in the restaurant, they were very unfriendly and unprofessional.

Should I choose one city of all we visited, I would choose Venice. I really love this city because I think it’s different and original. I’ve never visited a city like Venice. Finally, driving back to Barcelona we stopped in Bergamo and Vicenza.
In conclusion, I enjoyed very much this travel. I think we visited interesting places and cities so, it became a positive experience that if I could I would repeat.

MY BEST EXPERIENCE IN
“LA CONRERIA”

Last week we went to “ La Conreria “ in Tiana, Badalona. We were there on Thursday and Friday. When we arrived there it was raining a lot, we went to the canteen to eat our breakfast. Then we did  some activities indoor. At lunch time we went another time to the canteen. After that we went to the playground because it wasn’t raining.

Then I had my best experience in “ La Conreria “, there were a soccer field, then we took a ball and we started to play, I was the goalkeeper of my team and one of the others came to me and kick to the goal I stopped the ball with my hands and then he kicked another time and I stopped the ball with my head. Then I shot at the other goal and I scored, all my team parters came to me to celebrate the goal.

After that we went to a little park in the playground there we played in the swings after that we had dineer and at night in the bedroom we played with nerf and later we went to the bed.

On Friday we did some extra activities from pastoral of the school and we went to the church. At 4 a.m. we came by bus to Barcelona.

We love going camps because we can play with the friends and have a good time.

LA CONRERIA 2017

Last Thursday 19th we went to La Conreria in Tiana, Badalona. We stayed there from Thursday to Friday, and I had so many good experiences.

But my best experience was the night game, we started it at 10:00

and we finished it any 11:30, the game was about savanna animals and hunters.

First we went to the rooms, to grab the flashlights, then we were divided in two groups and finally we went to the playground to start.

First two monitors were placed in both corners of the fields, one with a bag full of  papers with animal names and the other with an empty bag.

First one group had to grab one paper and hide it in a part of the body, an then they had to put the papers in the empty bag. But the other group had to stop the people and revise them, when a person stop one of the other group had 10 seconds to find the paper if they don’t find the paper the other person could continue.

It was so funny to hide the paper and see how the other person doesn’t find it, but also when you had to revise, it was difficult to find some papers because there were people that hid them so well.

       It was a fantastic night!!!

A week in Italy

Last week we were in Italy enjoying ourselves. It was fantastic because we could see a lot of new places and monuments we talked about but could never imagine how beautiful as everything was.

Although I liked every single part of our trip, my favourite was Venice, which is a city surrounded by water. So, in order to walk around, you must cross several bridges. We visited the cathedral and the tower from where we admire wonderful views. Of course, we couldn’t leave without getting on a gondola which was a really fun experience, and I also bought a handmade metallic mask from a small shop.

Unfortunately, Maria, David and me got lost while admiring pretty narrow streets and cute canals where the gondolas sailed. Suddenly, we heard familiar voices speaking in Catalan and bumped into Lurdes and Mario who were also looking for the main square. On the way to San Marco square, Mario was staring at a nice jumper. Even though he was undecided, our insistence helped him figured out that he had to purchase it and record a haul + try on video.

In a nutshell, I loved this experience because we had the chance to share an unforgettable memory with our classmates and teachers. I was happy to be in places I had never been before too.

BEST MEMORIES OF ITALY 2017

The last week of October my colleagues and I went on a trip I had been excited for a very long time. The trip to Italy, a trip just for the oldest of the school, the trip that meant our journey through school was probably on its end, which in a big part is very positive ha ha.

One of the reasons for the excitement was that I had been to Italy before, but I can’t really remember most of the places I visited because I was too little, what I can remember though, is that I liked it a lot not only the touristic places but also other stuff like the desserts they bake.

However, this trip was going to be a little different because my parents weren’t going to be with me, which wasn’t a problem because I seem to travel by myself lately! Also, not very different to the other trips in vehicle as home we are used to travelling by car as far as we can, and it’s probably the best at the end, because even though it’s tiring, and we all can say it is, it’s the best way to see more quantity of places and not staying just in one, you don’t need to take a train neither or another vehicle you’d also have to pay for. The plus of going with the friends is another benefit as it doesn’t make the trip that boring at night in the bus and makes it milder.

Even though Italy seems to be a country that appears everywhere and many people that have travelled have already been there it’s a country that surprises every time, because you can have visited it once, twice or more times, but its magnificence enchants you as if it was the first time. Italy is Italy, and I can say I have a crush on that country.

One of my biggest wishes was to visit Firenze at night time. I love to see the most spectacular buildings being lighted up by some lampposts when everything else is dark. Another wish, more likely a whim, was to eat gelato. Somehow, I got very scared there weren’t many places to buy it but it was absolutely wrong as you could find a gelato shop without even looking for it. The place to eat it had to be San Gimignano, and I forgot about it during the entire visit there but remembered just some time before all the group had to meet, so of course my group helped me find it and I could eat it feeling kind of very satisfied.

Apart from those little wishes I didn’t notice that the biggest part was about to come. The Venice day was about to happen, and I would be able to finally visit it. I honestly didn’t imagine it would be so beautiful and impressive, maybe I underestimated, probably I did, but anyway its magical scenario shocked me. The water, the panoramic sights of the isles, the crystal, the masks all over, the stretched streets, etc. It was all of it that made me love it, fortunately I hadn’t spent too much cash till that day as it was the one place I hadn’t visited before, so I spent most of it there, it feels so good to have a taste of Venice home.

The trip was all about walking, bus, visiting and more walking, which for me was awesome because we didn’t leave behind any essential thing to visit. I really recommend this trip to all the people who may doubt doing it because they have visited it already as it’s really like a brand-new experience, followed by all your friends in school, so it’s like two of the coolest things together, friends and travelling. I really couldn’t ask for more, maybe less walking ha ha, but if I hadn’t walked that much I probably wouldn’t have eaten the gelato or got lost in Venice’s streets which is highly recommended as it’s very funny and you can end in just water and must return to maybe find more water.

It’s truly the experience I will remember with more yearn when school year ends and when I don’t see the people who accompanied me during this trip every day, but it leaves a feeling of wanting more that brings me to think that maybe I’ll be travelling with them to some other places after the good experience I lived, who knows, but I’m very open to that!

Italy 2017

Last week, my classmates and I had probably one of the best experiences we ever had together. It was my first time in Italy and I think I'll always remember how beautiful this country is, with its buildings and streets.

One of the best memories i have is probably visiting Florence. My parents had always told me it was a very beautiful city and they were right. The duomo and the campanile were impressive as well as the Galleria dell'Accademia, but in my opinion every single street had its own charm, I was actually quite upset when we had to meet up to go to the restaurant because I didn't want to stop walking around with Paula. Also, the people we met there were very nice. If we asked someone in the street how to get to a museum or to the Ponte Vecchio, for example, they all answered nicely and asked us where we were from, or if we were enjoying our trip. The experience there was very nice overall.

I also really liked San Gimignano. It felt like being in a fairytale because everywhere we went looked so pretty and so medieval! The views there were breathtaking, and they also had the best ice cream in the world so that made it even better.

One of the things that surprised me the most was, besides from the amount of money we spent in every restaurant, the number of places there were to grab something to eat. It was surprising because there was at least one restaurant every two streets everywhere we went, and the same with ice cream shops! And it also surprised me that you could get frozen yogurt fairly easily compared to Barcelona. I noticed that because I love frozen yogurt and being able to eat one practically every day was great.

Even though we barely spent any time in the hotel, I have to say I expected something worse. Especially because our teachers had said there weren't good hotels. I know some people got really bad rooms in Florence but ours wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The second hotel we went to was really weird, but I really liked the food in the restaurant although a lot of people complained about it.

All in all, it was an amazing trip. The week went by really fast and I wish we could have stayed longer to visit many other places. I really enjoyed the time I spent with my friends and I'm very glad that during the trip I was able to talk to many other classmates who I never had the chance to have a conversation with, but that we ended up getting along very well. It was a great experience.

TRIP TO ITALY

Last week most of the students of second of BTX went to Italy. This was the first time I went to Italy. We went by bus and we had about sixteen hours until we arrived. It was a long trip, but it wasn’t as heavy as I imagined.

We visited a lot of beautiful places around of Italy. I really liked every city or village that we stayed in. First of all, I want to start with the beginning of the trip. When we arrived in Pisa I was fascinated with the tower of Pisa. I thought that it was higher, but on the other hand I saw her more leaning than I imagined

In Florence we did a walking route at night and the next day we did it during the day. What I liked the most was seeing the city of Florence under the moonlight. I went up to the top of the campanile, when I got up it started to rain, but that didn’t stop me from seeing the wonderful and great city of Florence from above.

Then in San Gimignano we got free time to visit it. It was little but beautiful, with many narrow streets. In San Gimignano they have the best ice cream in the world and some people bought one there. Another city that I liked was Siena, the place that I liked the most was the big Piazza del Campo.

But what I liked the most was Venice, with its buildings and its streets. I went in gondola through the canals of Venice. I loved it so much, and the gondolier was very nice with us, obviously I took a photo with him.

The last two places were Vicenza and Bergamo, there we didn't have much time to visit it but it was enough.

The time there was really good, it was sunny every day, except one day that it was raining in the afternoon. The temperatures in the morning were very low, like 4ºC early in the morning, but then at midday the temperatures were higher, like 20ºC. These radical changes of temperature caused us to wear different layers of clothing.

I really liked the whole trip in general and if someone told me to repeat it I would not hesitate to say yes. I recommend this wonderful trip to the next generations, it is really worth doing.
